Cinema Exhibition

Cinema Exhibition is where Village Roadshow started. Today the division operates under the Village Entertainment brand and includes the Village Cinemas and Intencity businesses and is continuing to diversify into a range of dynamic entertainment offerings including premium bar concepts and stand alone food and beverage brands such as Chef's Gourmet popcorn.

Village Cinemas

Today Village Roadshow and its strategic partners operate over 680 screens at 83 sites in Australia, and internationally, where its state of the art complexes have set industry standards.

In Australia, Village Cinemas is one of the country's largest cinema operators, with an interest in screens across all Australian states. Since beginning operations in the 1950's, Village Cinemas has both expanded the number of cinemas it operates and enriched the cinema going experience. In particular Village Roadshow was one of the first companies to develop the multiplex concept and make stadium seating a standard fixture in all its cinemas. It was also Australia's first major cinema exhibitor to convert 100% of its screens to the digital format.

The creation of 'entertainment destinations' is central to the division's strategy. The Cinema Exhibition division has a clear strategy to position itself as a destination of choice through a diverse offering of exceptional experiences which are complemented by high standard traditional cinemas. These concepts appeal to specific market segments and give Village Cinemas a competitive advantage.

Gold Class Cinemas are luxury, premium venues offering personalised service; smaller more private and intimate cinemas; customer designed recliner seating and state of the art projection and sound systems. This style of cinemas has been particularly popular for corporate functions and those looking for a more memorable movie going experience. In addition Village Roadshow took the Gold Class concept to the USA and now owns a strategic investment in upmarket cinema venues trading under the iPic brand.

Vpremium was launched in 2015 and is a fresh take on the cinema experience. Vpremium offers customers a cinema going experience between traditional and Gold Class, serving hot food and alcoholic beverages from an extensive menu.

Vmax are truly big screens which bring movies to patrons in the most realistic and impactful way. Films are seen as they are meant to be seen, all the comedy, action and drama of the movies come to life.

VJunior combines two things that kids love - movies and play. Designed for children aged 3 to 10 years, VJunior features a dedicated play area in the foyer, and cinemas specifically designed for kids, with slides, activities and a tailored food and beverage offering. VJunior is exclusive to Village Cinemas and is Melbourne's latest and greatest child-friendly entertainment destination.

For a night of good old fashioned movie fun, bring your family or a carload of friends to the Village Drive-In.

Cinema Europa appeals to the true movie connoisseur by screening the finest films in a sophisticated environment.
